  1. East Asia is mostly covered by China and Mongolia. There are many mountain ranges here too. The tallest ones are the Himalaya and the Kunlun Shan. Between those is the Plateau of Tibet which is so tall people call it "Roof of the World". Most people live on the lowlands which are near the Korean Peninsula and Japan. Like Southeastern Asia, East Asia has part of the Ring of Fire.

  2. East Asia occupies most of the Asian land south of Russia. There are also a lot of mountain ranges here. Like the Himalaya and the Kunlun Shan. There are also a lot of peninsulas like the Malay Peninsula. There are islands like crazy around here. Indonesia is entirely made of them so is the Philippines. Chinas major river system is the Huang He or the Yellow River. It is called the Yellow River because it has very rich deposits of yellow soil. This soil is very fertile and good for farming.

  3. This is the second of two. There is fertile land left behind by the Yellow River. Therese also more grasses in lowlands for cattle and sheep to graze on/ abundance of food. The ocean is in the low land so there is kelp farming. They can fish for fish, squid, octopus, and other sea foods. Transportation wise to over ocean is easier and cheaper than going over the land and mountains.

  4. East Asia is mostly covered by China and Mongolia all the rest of the countries are on islands or peninsulas. The mountians go right through East Asia that is were there are some of the tallest mountians which include the Himalaya. Tibet is also fopund right by the Himalyas Tibet is so high its called the Roof of the world.
I think that most people live in the lowland area because then there they can grow crops better and they are probably more use to the elevation. It is also more colder in the higher elevation so they probably like it more were it is wormer.

  5. East Asia occupies most of the Asian continent below Russia. China and Mongolia take up most of East Asia's landmass. The tallest ranges here are the Himalayas and the Kunlun Shan. Between these mountain ranges is the Plateau of Tibet. This plateau rises so high it is called the "roof of the world". The North China Plain and Manchurian Plain are the only major lowland areas in East Asia. East Asia's islands are in the Ring of Fire. Volcanoes and Earthquakes occur often here.
I think most people live in the lowland areas because of the soil. The soil there is very fertile. Farmers that live there have good soil for farming and feeding livestock.

  6. East Asia is mainly covered by China and Mongolia. There are many mountain ranges in this area such as the Himalaya mountains. And there is the Plateau of Tibet which is 15,000ft high and is called the roof of the World. East of the mountains is mainly lowland with two main lowland plains the North China Plains and the Manchurian plains.
In the Pacific Ocean off East Asia's coast there are archipelago. An Archipelago is a chain of islands that form a curve. One of them is Japan

  7. Through out western East Asia lies highlands and mountain ranges. The Himalaya and Kunlun Shan are the tallest of the ranges. The Plateau of Tibet is between those mountains. East of the mountains are the North China Plain and the Manchurian Plain, the only major lowlands in East Asia. You will find most of East Asians population on these lowlands.

I think most of the people live on the lowlands because they are more fertile, allowing more farming. The lowlands are located near the coasts of the Korean Peninsula and Japan. It would be much easier to import goods from other countries.

  8. East Asia has a lot of mountain ranges in the west in fact it is just a big plateau. There are also mountain ranges to the west such as the Himalaya range. To the east is lots of lowland. There are a large number of islands such as: Indonesia, Japan, The Philippines and Thailand. Indonesia, The Philippines and Thailand make up a chain of islands called an archipelago. A mineral found in this area is called Tungsten, which is used to make light bulbs and rockets.
I think people live in lowland areas because plants can grow there easily. Few plants can grow above the timber line. The timber line is the line on a high mountain that seperates where trees can and cant grow. Plus lowland areas have more rich soil.

  10. Eastern Asia is full of mountains, like the Himalaya and the Kunlun Shan, along with other lowland areas. Between the Himalaya and the Kunlun Shan there is a large platue called the Platue of Tibet, and because of its size it also called the Roof of the World. Eastern Asia also consists of low lands such as the North China Plain and the Manchurian Plain. Then, there are also islands and archipelagos in the Pacific Ocean and these islands, like Japan, are full of mountains. These islands are in an area called the Ring of Fire where there are a lot of volcanoes erupting.
The lowlands of East Asia are areas that are highly populated. The lowlands have fertile soil which can be great for farming. It is also a lot harder to form cities where the ground is rugged and cold so the flat plains make it great for settlements. Elevation may also be a factor because the higher you get the colder the climate might be and if you want to live in a place with good climate you would live in lowland areas. And if you are a farmer and you want to raise livestock then you need a place that can grow plants so you can feed your animals.

  11. ~summary~
The landforms of East Asia occupy much of the Asian continent south of Russia. Mongolia and China go over most of East Asia's landmass. In East Asia There are highland and lowland areas. The highland areas are the Himalayas and the Kunlun Shan. Between these two mountain ranges there is a vast Plateau called the Plateau of Tibet. The Plateau of Tibet is so high they call it Roof of the World. And the lowland areas have fertile soil. Lowlands have alot of East Asia's population.
    ~Answer~
More people live in lowlands because of fertile soil. Another reason could be because it is easier to breath in the lowland's than th ehighland's.

  12. Land Forms of East Asia

East Asia has many different landforms; there is archipelagos, plateaus, highlands, lowlands, mountains, and peninsulas. Most of the people live in the lowland regions. In Tibet they call it the Roof of the World because it is at an average of 15,000 feet elevation. In the lower areas it is warmer due to being my oceans or seas. Off the southeastern coast of China the Ring of Fire is located. This Is a area near the Pacific Ocean and it is home to many earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.

Answer: I think that most people live in the lowland areas because the climate is more temperate and moderate. A lot of the population is near or on the coast. If you live up in Tibet or high in a mountain chain it is going to be colder, harder to breathe, but you get used to it and it is not that bad.

  14. East Asia is mostly covered by Mongolia and China the other countries are found on peninsulas or islands. There are many mountains ranges. The tallest mountain ranges include the Himalaya and the Kunlun Shan. Between these mountain ranges is the Plateau of Tibet, also called the “roof of the world” because of how high it is. The Plateau of Tibet reaches 15,000 feet in elevation.
I think most people live on the lowlands because of the rich soil. There are many volcanoes such as the Ring of Fire that help provide the rich soil to help with farming.

  15. China and Mongolia take up much of East Asia and the other countries all lay on peninsulas or islands. The tallest mountain ranges here are the Himalayas and the Kunlun Shan. The Plateau of Tibet is in-between these two mountains. The Plateau of Tibet is also called the “roof of the world”. The North China Plain and the Manchurian are the only lowland areas east of the mountains. In the Pacific Ocean Japan forms an archipelago which is a chain of islands. Some of East Asia’s islands are part of the Ring of Fire.

I think most people live there because of the fertile soil. I think they live in the lowlands because it is easier to breath. I think they live there is because it is so close to the coast. Another reason I think they live there because it is away from the mountains. The last reason I think they live there is because of the flatter land unlike the steep and hilly land near the mountains.

  16. East Asia covers much of the Asian continent south of Russia. The two countries the take up most of East Asia’s land are China and Mongolia. The other countries that make up East Asia are North Korea, South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. Those countries are different from China and Mongolia because they lie on peninsulas or islands. The tallest ranges in East Asia are the Himalayas and the Kunlun Shan; they divide through western East Asia.

In East Asia, I think most people live in the lowlands because of the rivers. The people that live in East Asia depend on the river system for water, food, and economic survival. Without water no one would have anything to drink, wash their clothes in, or even to make food. People depend on the river for food also. Without food or water no one could survive. This is why most people live in the lowlands, because of the rivers.

  17. East Asia's countries are China, Mongolia, Taiwan, South Korea, North Korea, and Japan. Western East Asia is sliced by highlands and mountain ranges. The Himalaya and the Kunlun are the tallest of them. Measuring 15,000 feet high, the Plateau of Tibet lies between these. East Asia’s only major lowlands are east of the mountains and are called North China Plain and Manchurian Plain. The coasts of Japan and the Korean Peninsula also have some lowland areas. Japan and Taiwan are a chain of islands, also know as an archipelago. These areas are prone to earthquakes and volcanic eruptions because they are in the Ring of Fire.

The lowland areas are home to most of East Asia’s population because the land is fertile. I would assume the people of East Asia live in that area because with the fertile land you would be able to grow crops well. Other than the land, I think people would live there because it’s warmer than it is in the mountains.

  18. East Asia is mostly made up of the two following countries Mongolia and China. But there are other small countries that include some of the following North Korea, South Korea, and Japan. All of those countries either lie on peninsulas or islands. The island of Japan forms an archipelago or a chain of islands. The islands also make up the Ring of Fire where earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur.

I think people live in the lowland areas because for the better farmland. Because up in the mountains the soil is very hard, but down in the valleys the soil is very fertile. Also it is easier to import goods because most of the lowlands are near the coast.
